Great Allegheny Passage
With the completion of the Great Allegheny Passage rail-trail – local bicyclists and hikers can travel from Pittsburgh to Washington, D.C.
The arts are already out and the food vendors are all that’s left to pack up after 10 days of the Arts Festival in Gateway Center and The Point.
It was a big day for hikers, bicyclists and others who love outdoor recreation.
Festivities in Point State Park on Saturday afternoon will mark the completion of a bike trail from Pittsburgh to Washington, DC.
Pittsburgh may be known as the “Steel City” or the “City of Bridges” but it’s also an awesome place to pull on your boots and take a hike!
A ceremony was held today to open a brand new three-mile section of the Great Allegheny Passage. The ambitious trail project will one day connect Pittsburgh to Washington D.C.
