Pirates, Nationals Split Doubleheader In Washington
The Pirates had the rare opportunity to gain a game and a half on the first place St. Louis Cardinals with their doubleheader in Washington D.C. on Saturday. All the pieces were falling into place, beginning with a 5-3 win in the first game, but ended up losing the second 4-3 and splitting the doubleheader.

The Pirates picked up a win, beating the Washington Nationals, 4-2 on Monday night.
