Before Larry and John and even before John Cigna and the K Team there was Jack Bogut, a friendly voice KDKA Listeners woke up to for 15 years. Bogut, a radio hall of famer and a staple in Pittsburgh radio since 1968 visited the KDKA Morning News for the first time in 32 years.
Bogut spent the morning with Larry reminiscing about his days at KDKA as well as talking about creating the Farkleberry cookie, the Kinotata song, and other classics.
Taco Bell recently started serving breakfast at their restaurants and as part of their ad campaign they wanted Ronald McDonald to tell people how good their new breakfast is. So they found 25 people around the county named Ronald McDonald to promote the new menu items.
One of the McDonalds is a funeral director from Kane Pa and he joined the KDKA Morning News with Larry Richert and John Shumway to talk about his experience.
B is for Bethel Park and Beaver County! KDKA to Z visited different locations all through the month of October. We visited Bethel Park’s Evey True Value Hardware on October 26 and the Community College of Beaver County on October 16.
D is for Duquesne and Dormont! KDKA to Z visited different locations all through the month of October. We visited the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank on Monday, October 14 and Dormont’s Lachina Drapery and Blind Factory on Tuesday, October 29.
F is for Farmington! KDKA to Z visited different locations all through the month of October. We visited Farmington’s Nemacolin Woodlands Resort on October 12.
“H” is for Highland Park. The Kdka Morning News visited the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium in Highland Park on Thursday, October 17th with a live broadcast from 5-9AM!
N is for New Brighton! KDKA to Z visited different locations all through the month of October. We visited McGuire Memorial in New Brighton on Thursday, October 3rd.
O is for Oakmont and Oakland! KDKA to Z visited different locations all through the month of October. We visited the Oakmont Bakery on October 25 and celebrated Oakland on October 19th.
P is for Pleasant Hills and Plum! KDKA to Z visited Bowser in Pleasant Hills on Tuesday, October 1 and Flynn’s Tire in Plum on Friday, October 18.
S is for South Fayette, Squirrel Hill, and Southpointe! KDKA to Z visited different locations all through the month of October. We visited South Fayette’s 84 Lumber store on Friday, October 4 and Squirrel Hill’s Jewish Community Center (JCC) on Tuesday, October 15. We visited Southpointe’s Range Resources on Wednesday, October 23. We’re celebrating Sewickley on Sunday, October 27.

Town crier and gate crasher, Tony Appleton – the man who announced to the world that the royals had a baby boy – admitted to KDKA Radio’s Larry Richert and John Shumway of the KDKA Morning News that he wasn’t invited.
