Given the way the Milwaukee Brewers have bashed the Pittsburgh Pirates around at Miller Park in recent years, Kevin Correia acknowledged that there were times when even a big early lead might not have felt very safe. But a six-run third inning off Randy Wolf proved to be plenty Friday night, and the Pirates pounded the Brewers 8-2.
The Pirates pulled off a rare road win against the Milwaukee Brewers, beating them 9-8 at Miller Park. Charlie Morton pitched five innings, giving up five runs on eight hits and striking out three.
The Pirates epic struggles in Milwaukee continued Saturday afternoon as three Brewers hit solo home runs in an 8-2 win at Miller Park. The Pirates have lost 29 of their last 31 games there.
