Once again, the Steelers picked up a defensive player in the NFL Draft, selecting a linebacker from Ohio State.
Although the first round selection of Ryan Shazier by the Pittsburgh Steelers came as a surprise to many, that doesn’t mean it wasn’t a good use of the 15th overall pick. Shazier fills a need at inside linebacker and brings speed to a defense desperately in need of it as he has been clocked running the 40-yard dash at 4.35 seconds.
All eyes and iPhones were on Johnny Manziel, who squirmed in his seat for 21 picks before landing in the wasteland we call Cleveland. He forced a smile and his signature salutation, rubbing his thumb and forefinger, a metaphor for counting his cash.
