At the behest of Pope Francis, the Pittsburgh Catholic Diocese embraced the chance to survey Catholic families on challenges faced in today’s more liberal American culture.
On the evening of Thursday, June 21st, Bishop David Zubik was driving from Oakland after celebrating mass to his home at St. Paul Seminary in Crafton. At the corner of Third Avenue and Grant Street, the bishop’s Ford Edge was hit. The impact was horrific, shearing off the bumper, grill, computer box and sending it flying.
Catholic Bishop David Zubik used strong words today to describe his unhappiness at the Obama Administration. The issue is over whether Catholic-run institutions should be required to offer their employees an insurance plan that covers contraceptives.
