Following a brief performance this morning by J.D. Eicher, one of the local rock artists from the Hometown Music Festival, Allegheny County Rich Fitzgerald today announced the lineup for the 2013 Summer Concert Series.

Arts’ Supporters Protest Over Corbett’s Award From Pittsburgh Opera

A $750-a-plate, black-tie dinner honoring Gov. Tom Corbett and his wife was interrupted by protestors Saturday night. It was a benefit dinner for the Pittsburgh Opera.

Pittsburgh Opera’s Recognition Of Corbett Stirs Controversy

The internationally acclaimed Pittsburgh Opera now finds itself the center of controversy. To raise money, a parking garage in the Strip District is undergoing a makeover for a swanky $750-a-ticket event to honor Governor Corbett and his wife, Susan, chair of the Pennsylvania Council for the Arts.
