Here they go again – jumping into a frigid river in the middle of January. Are they crazy?
A huge crowd took part in this year’s Polar Bear Plunge Tuesday morning. Hundreds of people headed to the Mon Wharf to brave the chilly temperatures and jump in the river.
It’s as much a part of New Year’s Day as pork, sauerkraut and football. For some people across the area, 2012 got off to a very chilly start with the Polar Bear Plunge at the Monongahela River.
The Special Olympics came to the NewsRadio 1020 KDKA studios this morning to talk about the what they do and their upcoming fundraising event to raise money for the athletes.
