A former district magistrate in Rankin pleaded guilty to some charges he was facing in connection to allegations that the offered favorable rulings in exchange for sex.
Judge Ross Cioppa, accused of asking female defendants for sexual acts in return for favorable rulings, was in court Tuesday morning for a preliminary hearing.
District Justice Ross Cioppa has been relieved of his duties following his arraignment today on charges of indecent assault, bribery and official oppression. Cioppa’s district is based in Rankin.
