PITTSBURGH (AP) — Clint Barmes’ first career grand slam keyed a nine-run fourth inning and Neil Walker went 5 for 5 as the Pittsburgh Pirates rallied past the San Diego Padres 11-5 on Sunday.
The Pirates came up short against the Milwaukee Brewers, 6-4. Ross Ohlendorf pitched five innings and allowed four runs on five hits. Prince Fielder hit three home runs in one game for the first time in his career.
The Pirates were unable to overcome a five-run inning by the Arizona Diamondbacks, losing 8-5 on Wednesday. Ross Ohlendorf (1-3, 8.29 ERA) pitched just two innings and allowed seven hits, seven runs and struck out only one batter.
