A suspicious item found near the U.S. Steel Tower in downtown Pittsburgh belonged to a homeless person. Pittsburgh police shut down the ramp to the Veterans Bridge in addition to the Sixth and Seventh Avenue exits into downtown while the bomb squad investigated.
Striking Verizon Workers Rally Downtown
Verizon workers nationwide are on strike, including roughly 12,000 local employees. The walkout began over the weekend after negotiations failed. A large protest was held at 8 a.m. outside of Verizon’s downtown headquarters.
