KDKA Investigators have confirmed that two top administrators at Allegheny County’s Shuman Juvenile Detention Center have been fired.
The state is taking Shuman to task rejecting its response to the assault on the 16-year-old resident and busting the detention facility down to a provisional license.
Its mission is the rehabilitation of troubled youth. But state and county officials say Shuman center is in need of reform.

The Shuman Center is supposed to be a place not just to detain the kids, but to rehabilitate them. However, some former and current workers at the Shuman Center said that’s not being done because management is not only corrupt, it’s creating an atmosphere that actually breeds more crime.
A standoff situation in Hazelwood ended with a juvenile being taken into custody Wednesday morning.
