At the sound of the starter’s pistol, a cast of tens of thousands took off on a 26-mile trek from Downtown Pittsburgh through a number of scenic city neighborhoods. Around the same time, the annual marathon party was starting at Tim Zinn’s home on Western Avenue on the North Side.
The Pittsburgh Marathon is this Sunday, and as runners get ready to take on the course, there is new technology that can help family and friends cheer them on.
A cloudy, wet morning couldn’t stop the wave of runners poised at the new start line for the Pittsburgh Marathon on Sunday morning. With the sound of the starter’s pistol, a sea of humanity took off on a 26.2 mile course, taking them through downtown streets, across bridges and through neighborhoods.
