Elite Bartending School understands there’s more to bartending than just mixing drinks and raking in tips; you’ve got to master everything from drink order preparations to customer service. That’s why at Elite Bartending School, all training is done under the supervision of a qualified instructor behind the school’s simulated, fully equipped bar that will prepare you in everything from speed techniques to bar fluency. The school is also the only bartending school in the city authorized to teach the Professional Bartending Schools of America bartending program during its 40-hour professional mixology course. Classes start weekly and are offered during the day and evening, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., as well as Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

If shaking, mixing and muddling is your style, sign up for Art of Mixology’s three-hour cocktail course. Master mixologist Steven Kowalczuk will guide you through this entirely hands-on class so not only will you learn the tricks of the trade and a variety of preparation techniques, you’ll be the one serving everything from classic cocktails like martinis to modern, mixed drinks like margaritas. Wrap up this interactive class with a graduation event in which you’ll receive your mixology certificate and have the opportunity to participate in a cocktail competition. Art of Mixology classes are held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at downtown Pittsburgh’s Olive or Twist.

At the Pittsburgh Bartending School, you’ll learn more than just the basics of the barroom. In this 40-hour, hands-on course, you’ll learn a variety of techniques from free-hand pouring to how to make 150 drinks. You’ll also uncover the top tricks for increasing the amount of your tips, career development and interview tips.
