Ceramics are generally made from earthenware, stoneware or porcelain and need to be heated at high temperatures in a kiln to harden the materials. Classes and studios are available for the everyday individual to obtain the materials and instruction involved in creating ceramics, which can be decorated to create beautiful, functional pieces of art. Taking a ceramics class can be a fun activity or project for a group or individual looking to explore their creative talents. Here are some classes available in Pittsburgh for anyone wanting to get their hands dirty.
