This year for Valentine's Day, do something a little different. Don't just settle for cards, candies and flowers. Treat your Valentine to a more unique gift. Pittsburgh's Cultural District has shows playing during the weeks leading up to and after Valentine's Day that will fit any budget and schedule. These are the top five best date night shows to see for Valentine's Day in Pittsburgh.

Stephen Sondheim's musical comedy "Company" will run through February 23 at the O'Reilly as a production of the Pittsburgh Public Theater. Set in Manhattan, this musical features married couples, some single ladies and one lone bachelor who all try to navigate their way through their feelings about marriage. Company is the winner of multiple Tony Awards including Best Musical. In this production, an 11-piece orchestra will provide live music for the actors. Tickets start at just $15.75. What's better than seeing an ABBA musical with your sweetheart? Head to Heinz Hall between February 11 and February 16 to see this show about a girl, her impending marriage and the answer to her lifelong question - who really is her father? Made even more popular by the movie of the same name starring Meryl Streep, this Broadway musical is a fabulous story about family and all of the drama and love that goes along with it. Tickets range from $23-$68. The 8 p.m. show on Valentine's Day will sell out so grab tickets while you still can.

This show will be performed on February 19th, and even though it is after Valentine's Day, this performance is well worth the wait if your significant other loves Beatles love songs. For $63.75, you can purchase a VIP admission ticket for a premium seat and receive a live recording of all of the music performed that evening. The show is a celebration of the music and lyrics of The Beatles as well as a commemorative event to celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Beatles' epic performance on "The Ed Sullivan Show" in February 1964.

Head just an hour north of the city to New Castle for a unique musical at an equally unique venue on February 15th. This show, sponsored by the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, will be performed in the nearly 100-year-old venue known as the home away from home for the PSO. Two vocalists will perform well-known love songs from famous Broadway plays as well as some tried-and-true pop music love ballads, all accompanied by an orchestra. Tickets range from $16-$58.

It doesn't get more romantic than going to the theater to see the ballet. The Pittsburgh Ballet Theater will perform this famous Tchaikovsky ballet from February 13 through February 16 with tickets starting at just $25.75. The story revolves around a beautiful princess turned into a swan by a sorcerer and the handsome prince who falls in love with her. This ballet is known to be one of the most technically demanding roles for ballerinas and the role of Odette is highly coveted. In addition to watching the ballet performance, take the time to arrive early and roam around the Benedum. This theater is one of the more opulent theaters in the Cultural District with its gilded ceilings and incredible crystal chandeliers.
