Italian Oven in Connellsville is the greatest! The website listed is for Atlanta though… is the website for our local one.

Try their zucchini, it’s the absolute best.

  • Deneen

    112 Westinghouse Ave
    Wilmerding, PA 15148
    (412) 824-6642
Jonny’s is the epitome of a family restaurant. I love the marinara and Godfathers chicken!!! Great steaks too!!! Always consistently good food

Gary’s Restaurant in Carrick is wonderful. Good food, good prices. Limited hours. Breakfast is fantastic.

    • Ramona

I have eaten at Garey’s which I ordered breakfast. I thought the waitress (sorry can’t remember her name) was very professional and thought full. The food was very good. I would recommend this restaurant

  • nate

What about Pizza and Gyro Express in North Huntingdon??? They have great food at a reasonable price and they are very family friendly. We go all the time… Great place for family in North Huntingdon area…

  • Kim

King’s absolutely sucks! At least the one in the Waterworks Mall does.

    • Lauren

I agree! I will never go to a King’s again.

      • Mary

King’s is horrible and it’s not limited to the Waterworks.

  • Timmy D.

Franks Pub and Grille in Bethel Park on Route 88. Best around, hands down.

  • Bill

Armstrong’s has nice portions and good service, best manicotti !!!, i enjoy it every time i go there.

  • Albert

Thanks. Now I know where not to go!

  • Mark

I don’t know what Kim and Lauren are talking about. I eat at the Kings in the Waterworks all the time and it is always Great! Hot food and great service. Always enjoyable. Albert before you pass judgement, try it, you will like it. The Eat and Park in the Waterworks is awful, loud environment, poor service and very long food prep time.

Who rates these places, is it the people who go there or does the establishments pay someone to say how wonderful they are? Soem of these places I will not go back to ever again, lousy service, overprepared meals.

  • johnny69

I had Gastric Bypass surgery so can only eat like a child, and it really does not pay to go out to eat. Eat N Park used to offer salad bar for kids prices if you showed you card from surgeon (saying that you had the procedure). This way I didn’t mind taking the family out. I still only could eat a half plate. They no longer honor it, so now I take the family, and just don’t eat while they do Thanks, Eat N Park…real family friendly

    • john

Why not just ordre and take half home for another meal?

      • Maya

Probably because that would require him to have self control. . . He wouldn’t have needed a gastric bypass if he’d had self control in the first place. Just sayin’.

  • Bring Back Pappan's

Most of the King’s have gone way downhill and many are no longer open 24 hours. I prefer Eat N Park and Denny’s but they aren’t as good as they once were either. All are priced outrageously. Bring back Pappan’s and Howard Johnson’s.

    • JD

Come on…Pappans, their restrooms were cleaner than the kitchens they had!

  • T Zenchak

La Capella is a wonderful family restaurant! We drive from the South Hills to go there every other month. My kids absolutely love it.

  • MG

My Family ate at Kings Yesterday in Bridgeville. Very dirty. Wall paper peeling off walls and bathrooms were disguisting. Food was very mediocre.

  • DG

Kings is always dirty, food on floor, dirty silverware, greasy tables. I refuse to eat at a Kings.

  • kfs

We eat at King’s often. It’s one place my 4yo will eat a full meal. When you go to King’s you have to remember where you are eating. Obviously it is not the place to chose to order a steak, but the sanwiches and breakfast are good. The King’s in Wexford and Crafton. Can’t speak for the others.

  • Shannon Nutt

“Family Friendly” is code for “screaming kids eat here”.

  • mortgage terms

I can not thank you adequately for the blogposts on your web site. I know you add a lot of time and energy into these and really hope you know how deeply I enjoy it. I hope I can do the identical thing person at some point.

  • AH

Joe’s Rusty Nail in Belluve is great. Good food , fair prices, and friendly staff.

  • Mary G.

I know that the Spaghetti Warehouse in the strip is wonderful for families. We ended up there on a Saturday and they had a balloon guy doing entertainment.

    • Tracy

My kids (and family) all thoroughly enjoy Spaghetti Warehouse. The food is delicious and the portions generous. The prices are very affordable and fair.

  • Carrie

I’m with Albert and Shannon – I love these lists if for no other reason than it lets me know what places to avoid when I want to ENJOY my meal!!!!!!!

  • Jim

Eat-N-Park needs to cook food thoroughly have had both raw hamburger and chicken at 2 seperate locations, gross

  • Anonymous

Try Bella Ria’s!!!!!! Excellent food, all made to order.

  • Tuck

At kings and eat n park they have more food on the floor than on my plate.I’d rather go to the restroom in a hole outside than go into theirs, also i think they hire their employes from the homeless shelters. GET A BATH
