"Eat 'N Park is the place for smiles." The slogan says it all. This newsroom favorite is definitely a great choice for kids young and old. With a number of locations throughout western Pennsylvania, this family-friendly restaurant covers all your needs: breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert. "Good quality, great price and everyone can get what they want!" Children can play with crayons and a coloring sheet during their visit and also get rewarded with a Smiley cookie at the end of the meal.

Called "kid friendly" by Urban Spoon, Armstrong's Restaurant in Moon Township and Castle Shannon are a great place for the whole family. A KDKA staffer sums it up as: "Great food, big servings and a casual setting make this a great restaurant for families!" Armstrong's features Italian and American cuisine.


Employees voted J. Clark's as a favorite family-friendly restaurant. "Whether you are looking for a quick bite to eat before the game or a sit down steak and shrimp dinner, you can find it all on the menu at J. Clark's." Reviewers say the restaurant offers a casual atmosphere in a great neighborhood, perfect for families of all sizes.

The Italian Oven is the ultimate family restaurant. "Where else can you write all over the table with crayons, then have the chef trace your handprint on the window while you watch him cook?" Servers write their names on the tables and encourage you to do the same. Between the drawings and the straw made of pasta, kids of all ages are sure to have a good time.

Family is its middle name! King's Family Restaurant can be found all over the Pittsburgh region. For more than four decades, King's has been catering to the entire family. "Their homemade pie is also the best. King's apple pie with cinnamon ice cream takes me back to my childhood. My parents LOVE this place, too!" Children also receive crayons and a coloring sheet while waiting for their meal.


Joe's Rusty Nail is a family-friendly cash-only joint located in Bellevue. "Good food. Big portions," is how a staffer sums it up. Menu items include: specialty sandwiches, sea fare and pastas.
