Sandcastle, sister of Pittsburgh's popular Kennywood and Idlewild amusement parks, is a fun-for-everyone water park that boasts entertainment from nighttime events to rides and slides, to waves, rivers and pools. There are treats to please every palette and tons of extra events happening all summer long. Pull your boat up along the river to dock and jump right into the fun, or take a 20 minute cruise from most anywhere to the park (conveniently located a mere 5 minutes from Kennywood). Grab a group and rent a cabana for the night, and if you're feeling liberal, throw in a waiter to bring your beverages and snacks to you. Or check out Jukebox Sundays from 6 to 10 p.m. Admission buys a ticket to enjoy live entertainment, music by guest DJs and choose from tons of dinner options at the Backstreet Grill. Bonus: season ticketholders attend for free. Snuggle up to your sweetie at the open fire pit and enjoy a relaxing evening of live tunes next to the picturesque Mon river.
