Located near South Hills Village Mall, The Pie Place specializes in pies, tarts, cakes, cupcakes and other yummy treats to satisfy your sweet tooth. This shop prides itself on using as many local ingredients as they can, using many suppliers that are located in the Strip District. One KDKA staff member says, "Through a large picture window, you can see the pastry chefs creating their masterpieces...and the pies are huge!" Another staffer loves the variety The Pie Place has to offer.

If you want some pie with a side of 1950's flair, this is the place for you. Located in Grindstone, patrons love the huge portions and unique ambience. Along with classic diner food like country fried steak, burgers and chicken sandwiches, dessert is always a highlight. One KDKA staff member says, "Great mix of towering homemade pies."

Fruit-pie lovers rejoice! What better place to get a pie than on a farm, where the ingredients are picked fresh and in season. This family owned and operated small fruits farm specializes in all types of berries, including hard-to-find yellow raspberries and red currants. One KDKA staff member's favorite is the raspberry cream pie. They also have a great tip: "Don't forget to pick up some wine from the adjacent Greendance Winery to go with it!"

One KDKA staffer says, "Their homemade pie is the best. King's apple pie with cinnamon ice cream takes me back to my childhood… My parents LOVE this place, too!"

Glisan's is a great place to stop for a meal if you're looking for good food at reasonable prices. Patrons love the variety of pies available, and say the flavors are great. They also say the staff is friendly and the service is prompt. Some say it's just like having a meal at Grandma's -- complete with a huge pie for dessert.
