The Thanksgiving turkey is the center of the Thanksgiving meal and celebration. With all of the importance placed on turkey, it is good to know that there are more places to find a perfect bird than just your local grocery store. Whether you're a culinary expert or you shy away from the kitchen, here are some great places to get a Thanksgiving turkey in the Pittsburgh area.

If you are looking for the centerpiece for an all-natural and healthy Thanksgiving meal, then Sunny Bridge Natural Foods in McMurray is the place for you. Sunny Bridge offers natural and organic whole turkeys as well as turkey breasts and giblets. If you have time for a drive to neighboring Westmoreland County, you can get your Thanksgiving turkey directly from Pittsburgh's Turkey supplier of choice, Pound's Turkey Farm. Pound's turkey's are all natural and free of hormones and antibiotics. In addition to fresh holiday Turkeys, Pounds also has many turkey products such as turkey breast, smoked turkey and turkey jerky. Thanksgiving Turkeys are currently available for special order from 12-28lbs for $2.69 per pound and breasts are available from 4-12lbs for $4.69 per pound.
