The Pittsburgh Penguins have moved into a fantastic new building at the CONSOL Energy Center. Just because the Pens moved across the street, though, doesn’t mean that you have change up your own pre and post-game routines. We’ve compiled a list of restaurants around Pittsburgh that offer drink and food specials specifically for Penguins games!

Steelhead Brasserie & Wine Bar

112 Washington Place
Pittsburgh, Pa. 15219-3423
(412) 394-3474
Located at the Pittsburgh Marriott at City Center, Steelhead is a stone’s throw from the CONSOL Energy Center. Stop by before and after every Pens game for 20-ounce Labatt Blue drafts for $4. The deal starts three hours before the game and runs until closing time and is only available for home games.

Bigelow Grille

1 Bigelow Square
Pittsburgh, Pa. 15219
(412) 281-5013

Located just off the lobby at the DoubleTree Hotel, Bigelow Grille is only a short walk to the CONSOL Energy Center. For Penguins home games, the Bigelow Grille has a bottled beer special and they offer a different menu than the one normally offered. The beer special changes with each home game and is offered at a lower price. The menu also changes, but features more of a sports-bar menu. It is recommended to make reservations in advance.

Rivertowne North Shore

Del Monte Building
337 North Shore Drive
Pittsburgh, PA 15212
(412) 322-5000

Located on the North Shore, Rivertowne has beer specials for every Pens game. In addition to their daily food specials and a daily featured beer for $3, Rivertowne offers 20-ounce drafts of Labatt Blue for $3. The special is offered for both home and away games!

Buckhead Saloon

HAHAHA. Does the author of this article even know where the CONSOL is at? The North Shore? Station Square? What about the half dozen or so bars/restaurants within a 2 minute walk of The CONSOL??

  • Twist

Every time the KDKA website puts out these “places to go” articles they don’t make any sense or hold any credibility! Why not spend some time and do some research! It’s embarrassing that our local new reporters are allowed to publish such lazy material.

    • mark

right on with the comments. kdka has no idea, what a joke.

  • Nicole

I wouldn’t be suprised if these place are not just paying for advertising, that may be how you make the list. The locations don’t seem to make sense.

  • sfe

What about the bars within walking distance of the consol

  • Noah

I believe you are right Nicole, how this article is written pushes the reader to believe that these bars listed are the only ones that have “pens specials”. I think the rathole up the street from me plays pens games and has a “pens special”. Hell every bar in this area that has a tv has some sports special.

  • Dan

There is no way that these would be the picks for before a pens game! These arent even close to consol and those specials arent even good! How about the $5 24oz corona bottles or $4.50 23oz Yuengling bottles at Cafe 5th Ave before the game which is right next to the arena. Horrible article and choices

    HELLO?!?!?! Milano Pizza and/or Shales?!?!?!?!

Go to either place on a hockey night and you’ll see how how crowed they are, why would one want to to go to Station Square, North Shore, etc. when ya have 2 great places right across the street right on Fifth Avenue. Come on KDKA, RESEARCH HELPS!?!?!?!?!

  • shannon

If you are looking for a great place to watch the Pens game, try The Rosecliff Tavern in Monroeville. They have a new big screen tv and many specials during the games. Great food and drinks at great prices also!

I know some great sports bars in Florida. I wonder why they didn’t make the list?!?!?!?!
