When you think of Pittsburgh's food staples, you probably think of a Primanti's sandwich stacked with cole slaw and fries or pierogis, but Pittsburgh's also got a great offering of seafood -- especially if you're looking for a great scallop dish. So where to go? From Wholey's fish market to restaurants specializing in seafood dishes to even sushi, Pittsburgh has plenty of awesome places to turn to for scallops. Here are five of the best.

Just keep in mind that the menu does change daily.

Though the Strip District's Eleven has a seasonal ever-changing menu, be sure to try their scallops -- you'll find them in almost any course. The sea scallop appetizer comes with potato salad and herbs, while the sea scallop entree features polenta, vegetables and focaccia. For a full plate of seafood, try the Seafood Tasting from the dinner menu with not just scallops but halibut, crab cake and veggies. Be sure to pair your meal with one of their wines, as well.

Part of the Big Burrito restaurant group -- which also includes Eleven -- Kaya offers a slightly different take on their scallops, focusing on the culinary customs of the Caribbean, South America and the Pacific. The award-winning restaurant's dishes include plenty of seafood, such as a shrimp and scallop ceviche. But the menu changes daily, so be sure to check with the restaurant ahead to see if they're cooking what you're craving.
