With spring comes new life, and the reemergence of the population from its winter hibernation. Celebrate the most joyous season of the year with art festivals that showcase every medium imaginable. From art installations, to theater productions, dance numbers and everything in between, this list is sure to please the art aficionado in your life.

Technically still in the springtime (June 21st is the "official" commencement of summer), the Three Rivers Arts Fest showcases the most intriguing, artistic, most prolific creators in the tri-state area and beyond. Head downtown for this 10-day showcase of everything musical, theatrical and artistic. Enjoy live dance, public art installations, gallery exhibitions, a visual artist market, creative activities and delicious food, all for free. Thanks in large part to The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, and also a growing community of individuals, foundations and corporations who believe in the arts and this iconic Pittsburgh celebration, the Three Rivers Arts Fest is an affordable, educational, beautiful romp through every visual, auditory and sensory experience available.

Mini-Factory is an interactive educational program designed to expose children to important concepts in installation art. Each one-hour session will focus on a particular theme, and is divided into three parts. First, children and their caregivers will explore the theme through hands-on activities. Next, children will participate in a theme-related storytime, and lastly, the kids will spend some time in the new "mobile, adaptable popup space" designed exclusively for them. This wonderful, interactive event is always free (and no admission to the museum is required, unless you visit before or after the session).

As this event is no different, Future Tenant organizes an annual fundraiser to benefit and bring awareness to the wonderful art and artists of the current season, as well as raise funds for the following programming year, commencing spring 2015. This year, the concept of the studio's fundraiser is Studio 819: Art is our Blueprint. The theme focuses on Living Tenant's modern archive, and celebrates not only the history of the organization, but also the vibrant community that has supported it for so many years. Join the non-profit for a night of food, drink, music and, of course, art as it embarks on spring 2015's showcase of enchanting, intriguing and educating installations.

This stunning group of photographs taken by renown artists working under the direction of of Alfred Stieglitz masterfully captures the international progression of photography as it moved from the rudimentary Impressionistic images of the late 19th century to the contemporary rule that began after the 20th century. Featuring one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted vintage prints made in a variety of processes by influential and visionary masters of the medium, this exhibition is drawn from the collection of Michael Mattis and Judith Hochberg and is organized by art2art Circulating Exhibitions.

Spanning 2014, and into the wee warm months of spring 2015, witness the "first full-scale survey" covering more than 30 years of work by the American artist, Corita Kent. Ms. Kent's thousands of posters, murals and signature serigraphs reflect her combined passions for faith and politics, many of which will be on display during this powerful installation. You can expect text pieces, early abstractions and her more lyrical works that were churned out in the 1970s and 1980s. The exhibition also includes rarely shown photographs that Ms. Kent utilized for teaching and directing.
