The best place to watch a Steelers game is, of course, Heinz Field. But for those who can’t get to Heinz Field every week, there are some great Steelers bars in the area where you can watch the game. With a little help from KDKA’s newsroom, we’ve come up with a list of the best!

Billy’s Black and Gold Bar

514 Sharpsville Avenue (Sharon, Pa.)
(724) 981-2030

A member of KDKA’s news team says that this bar has been hailed as having some great munchies to enjoy along with the big game. Billy’s Black and Gold was founded in 1988 as a family-friendly sports bar. The building includes a 30-foot high ceiling and real astro-turf. The table seating came from the Allegheny Club at Three Rivers Stadium. Memorabilia from all three Pittsburgh teams is scattered throughout the bar, and is topped off by an 18-foot mural of Pittsburgh.

South Side 86

1825 E. Carson Street (Pittsburgh, Pa.)
(412) 390-1910

South Side 86 is another family-friendly sports bar and grill. Located in the South Side, it is the self-proclaimed “Home of the Pittsburgh Steelers.” Their menu includes steaks, burgers and wings in a variety of flavors. There’s always a flat-screen TV in view to watch the latest game. Every night has different food and drink specials, so even if the Steelers aren’t playing, there is always a good time in store at South Side 86.

Sharky’s Café

3960 Mission Road (Latrobe, Pa.)
(724) 532-1620

Located just about a mile from the site of Steelers Training Camp at Saint Vincent College, Sharky’s is “the best Steelers bar in Westmoreland County,” according to a KDKA newsroom staff member. There are more than 30 HDTV plasma televisions; most of them are 50 inches wide! The food is superb, and there is both a large bar and a restaurant area that can seat more than 250 people. Lots of specials make it an affordable place to watch the game, and the staff will make sure you have a great time!

Jerome Bettis Grille 36

375 North Shore Drive (Pittsburgh, Pa.)
(412) 224-6287

Grille 36 is as close as you can get to Heinz Field without actually being there. It’s so close in fact, that you can see it from the patio. This sports restaurant has something on the menu for everyone! The building boasts 50 high definition televisions and a sound system that makes you feel like you’re at the game. The number 36 is prominent in the menu, featuring a 36-ounce New York Strip Steak, 36 beers on tap and 36 specialty cocktails. Grille 36 does not take reservations, so make sure to get there before seating fills up!

McFadden’s

211 North Shore Drive (Pittsburgh, Pa.)
(412) 322-3470

“Located in the heart of Steeler Nation and always has a great crowd during the game,” said a KDKA newsroom member about McFadden’s. If you can’t be in Pittsburgh for the game, McFadden’s also has locations in New York, Philadelphia, Boston, Washington D.C. and even Las Vegas! There are 30 high definition flat-screen TVs to enjoy the game on. The menu features American pub food as well as some Irish dishes. The best part is that this delicious food is also affordable!
