THE DEFENSE

Q: Hey Thomas! This is a great truck, not huge yet it has strength and power. What can you tell us about it? What's the best feature?

A: The impact resistance. I was in a broadside accident where a Ford F150 hit me in my passenger side cab and the impact was so great that it knocked me into the incoming lane. Fortunately, no one was in the other lane. My truck was repairable and put back on the road. It is good as new.

Q: Wow! You don't seem too fazed. Have you been in any other accidents?

A: Yes, a year and a half ago I was rear ended on Route 376 by a Honda 1994 Civic. My truck bed was damaged a bit but the Honda was totaled. Even though this is a light duty truck, it is built like a tank and I love it for its versatility!

Q: How do you use your truck?

A: Being in sales, I am able to make deliveries to my customers when they need product in a hurry. On weekends I use it to pick up mulch, fire wood or sapling trees and plants.

Q: Since you are in sales, how many miles do you travel in a week and where is your favorite stop?

A: I drive about 300 miles a week and my favorite stop is Rock Bottom at the Homestead Waterfront. I have great conversations with the people who work there about life, politics and anything else that comes up.

Q: Do you have a name for your truck or does it have a personality?

A: After surviving two accidents, I refer to my truck as Ironman.

Q: That sounds like a comic book hero. Are you a fan of comic books?

A: Yes, one of my favorite hangs outs is Phantom of the Attic in Monroeville. I started bringing comics home for my eight-year-old daughter and she loves them. Her favorite is Scooby Doo.

Q: What do you dislike most about driving?

A: Aggressive drivers and gasoline prices.

Q: What do you think about the future of electric cars?

A: The future is bright as long as we can charge them for a reasonable price at home!
