One of Pittsburgh's largest family-friendly events of the year happens to be quite affordable as well! The David L. Lawrence Convention Center will be filled with Family Fun this Saturday, including kid-friendly activities like Barney's Super-Dee-Duper Sing Along and special appearances by Max (of Max & Ruby fame) and Clifford. The Convention Center will be divided into areas, including the Princess Pavilion, Sports Zone, Creative Corner and others. Add some indoor rides and rock climbing, and your kids may never want to leave! You'll certainly get your money's worth.

Enjoy Pittsburgh Playhouse's performance of Marathon 33 (M33) for whatever you can pay, greater than $1! The play is based on June Havoc's play Marathon 33, and depicts the life of a young woman learning about the ways of the Depression-era dance marathon world, including grueling days of dance, heartache and more. Arrive at the box office as early as noon before the matinee performance to purchase pay-what-you-will tickets for any available seat in the house. All purchases must be made in person at the playhouse box office prior to the afternoon's performance.

Learn about gardening and horticulture from the experts at Phipps, visit their composting center, weatherization workshops and so much more. With an emphasis on family fun, you can even learn how to grow your very own pizza herb garden! This year, the show is offering free gardening gloves and flower seed packets to the first 50 women through the door each day, and free vegetable seed packets to the first 50 kids through the door each day. $2 discount coupons are available at participating McDonald's locations, kids 12 and under are free, plus parking is free too!
