Pittsburgh has some great guided tours that even locals can appreciate. Tours are available on boats, buses, trolleys or segways. The guided and sometimes humorous tours offer a look at Pittsburgh's favorite and historic areas. The Pittsburgh area has history, picturesque landscapes and the rivers. Here are the best guided tours even for locals.

Many different routes are available for tours and each lasts 45 to 90 minutes. Group discounts are available for groups of 10 or more. Before the tour, Segway in Paradise trains everyone inside Station Square on how to ride the segway before departing. The company limits the age of guests to 14 and up. The tour guides are experienced and trained segway experts. It is recommended to wear flat bottom shoes; heels are allowed but the participant must assume the risk.

Just Ducky Tours is Pittsburgh's only land and water adventure. The duck boats are converted WWII military vehicles. This tour company has special services for educational groups, private charters and corporate events. The tours last approximately one hour and are open to all ages from kids quacking to adults laughing and joking. Just Ducky Tours can accommodate people in wheelchairs or with disabilities.

The Pittsburgh Tour Company Double Decker Bus Tour is the only tour that allows you to hop on and hop off as it navigates around the city. It offers a historic ride in red double decker tour buses similar to what you see in London. The tour showcases some of Pittsburgh's shopping, live entertainment, stadiums, museums, restaurants, bars and architecture. The Pittsburgh Tour Company tries to make the tours humorous but informative; it has expanded the tours to 21 stops. The tour starts in the Southside and includes Mount Washington, the North Shore, the Strip District and Oakland. The tour season is closed until April 2015.

Molly's Trolleys is a 1920s vintage trolley. The tour departs from Station Square and takes you to popular sights in downtown, North Shore, the Strip District, Southside and Oakland. It also includes a behind-the-scenes tour and a ride on the Duquesne Incline. From November through May, the tour is at 12:45 p.m. every Saturday. The trolleys include 30-seat capacity, air conditioning and heat, luxurious interior, audio system for music and narration and handicap accessibility.
