The email chain which reaches over a thousand people started out as a text. During his question/answer session with the in studio fans he discussed the maturation process of minor league centerfielder Austin Meadows. Hurdle was apprehensive of not mentioning any particular player in the Pirates player development system but did say he is excited about the total makeup of the system. He says that other teams are constantly looking to pluck members of the Pirates organization. He also addressed the complaints about his team’s demeanor in the dugout prior to games.

Pirates Manager Clint Hurdle on Andrew McCutchenOn the heels of Piratefest Manager Clint Hurdle joined the Fan Morning Show in the Bowser Nissan Performance Theater discussing a plethora of issues. Hurdle said he is not worried about how Andrew McCutchen will react to all of the trade rumors surrounding him. Despite reports that McCutchen’s leadership has been called into question the Bucs skipper doesn’t see it that way. He says McCutchen has always been willing to learn and lead in multiple ways. He went on to say that he is not frustrating seeing other teams making major moves as the Pirates continue to relatively remain stagnate.
