Teen Rescued After Falling In Sharpsburg Hole

A 14-year-old girl is recovering after being rescued from a hole in Sharpsburg early Wednesday morning.

According to police, the girl went missing early Tuesday night. Her concerned family called police, who immediately began searching for the girl.

Around 1:45 a.m., a security guard at a scrap yard on 19th Street in Sharpsburg found her and called for help.

Paramedics arrived and rescued the girl from the 10-foot hole and took her to UPMC Saint Margaret Hospital for treatment.

There is no word on her condition, but she is expected to be okay.

According to the security guard, she dropped her cell phone and was attempting to retrieve it when she fell in the hole.
