Steelers' Ward Suffers Concussion In Loss

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward suffered a concussion Sunday night and was unable to return to the game.

The concussion was sustained while attempting to make a catch in the first quarter of a 39-26 loss to the New England Patriots.

Initially, the play was ruled as a completion. However, it was challenged by New England and overturned.

Ward did not return to the game and saw his streak of 186 consecutive games with at least one reception snapped.

After the hit, Ward was slow to get up and needed to be helped off the field.

Ward became the fourth Steelers player to sustain a concussion in the past week.

Will Allen, Mewelde Moore and Isaac Redman all sustained concussions during their 27-21 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 9.
