Reed Clears Waivers, Turns Down 2 Offers

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Jeff Reed will not be wearing an NFL uniform this weekend.

Reed's agent Donald Henderson tells KDKA-TV the former Steelers placekicker received calls from three different NFL teams shortly after clearing waivers at 4 p.m.

Henderson wouldn't name the interested teams, but he said two of the calls included offers that were turned down by Reed.

KDKA-TV Sports has confirmed that one of the teams that offered Reed a contract was the Cincinnati Bengals.

At this point, the plan is for Reed to work out on his own and take the weekend off.

After this weekend's games, Reed and his representatives plan to re-evaluate the kicking situation around the league before fielding new offers from interested teams.
