WVU Overcomes Deficit, Beats Duquesne
Pittsburgh (KDKA/AP)- The West Virginia Mountaineers men's basketball team overcame a 12-point deficit against Duquesne University on Sunday night to win by three points, 64-61.
WVU's Kevin Jones lead the team with 15 points and 9 rebounds.
West Virginia's senior guard Jonnie West scored 10 points, eight consecutive in the second half.
The team was trailing by six points when West went on his eight point run to put West Virginia ahead for good.
WVU's head coach Bob Huggins was impressed with the effort from West, saying, "he doesn't (mess) things up when he's on the floor, he makes all the shots, he knows what he's doing. That's what I need right now, guys who won't (mess) things up."
Duquesne was led by freshman guard T.J. McConnell's 18 points, 4 assists and 5 steals.
