Crews Put Out Fire At Local Truck Service Center

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Firefighters were called to put out a blaze at a Ryder Truck service center near Crafton Tuesday morning.

The blaze broke out after 9 a.m. along Ingram Avenue in Fairywood.

Authorities say the fire started in an area where the company stores hazardous materials.

At the scene, firefighters reportedly discovered 55 gallon drums of oil and fuel stored nearby. Crews could not use water on the fire at first.

"They used foam initially to knock the fire down," said Chief Doug Praskovich, of the Pittsburgh Fire Department. "The product did have some fumes, but after we knocked the fire down, it quickly dissipated."

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire before it could spread.
