Security Guard To Stand Trial In Black Friday Incident

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - A preliminary hearing was held today for the security guard who admitted to making up a story about a driver running him down at a local mall.

Gregory Lattera is facing charges of making a false report to police, impersonating a public servant, assault, unlawful restraint and harassment.

He was ordered to stand trial during his hearing in court this afternoon.

Lattera was arrested after officials say he allegedly roughed up John Kaminski, falsely accusing the married father of trying to run the security guard down.

It happened on Black Friday at the Toys 'R' Us store at Ross Park Mall.

Ross Township police were called in an attempt to assist Lattera. Officials say a Taser was used on Kaminski before he was taken into custody.

According to Ross Township police, the alleged incident was a lie.

Investigators say Lattera told officers that he was cold, tired and frustrated after directing traffic for more than six hours and he took his frustrations out on Kaminski.
