Local Man Facing Sexual Assault Charges
MOUNT PLEASANT (KDKA) - Mount Pleasant Police have arrested a man who they say was having sex with a minor for several years.
Eugene Koontz, 44, is facing multiple felony charges including aggravated indecent assault of a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child and statutory sexual assault.
According to police, the victim is currently 17-years-old, but was only 11 at the time this began.
Police initiated their investigation after Koontz confessed what had been happening to a person who notified police.
Koontz is being held in the Westmoreland County Jail unable to post $50,000 straight cash bond.
