Officials Search Beaver River For Missing Man

BEAVER (KDKA) - Dive teams searched the Beaver River in hopes of finding a missing man.

Michael Andres, 44, was last seen the morning of New Year's Eve when he left his College Avenue home in Beaver to get a cup of coffee.

Andres has symptoms of Huntington's Disease, meaning he could have problems with reasoning and motor skills.

He was wearing a camouflage jacket, blue shorts and tennis shoes.

"He kept to himself and really didn't have too many friends that he called," Alex Andres, Michael's brother, said.

Police say they received reports that he was seen crossing several bridges. Crews used sonar in the search.

Authorities say it's possible Andres may have left the area, but he didn't have any money and wasn't known to go far from home.

Beaver police ask anyone with information to give them a call.
