Burglary Suspect May Have Offered To Shovel Snow

CARNEGIE (KDKA) - Police in Carnegie say they believe a man going door-to-door offering sidewalk shoveling services may be responsible for a burglary.

Authorities say they investigated the incident on Tuesday just before 4 p.m. at a home in the 100-block of 5th Avenue.

According to investigators, the suspect may have been going door to door in the neighborhood and asking people if they wanted their sidewalks shoveled.

The suspect is described as a white male in his late 20s with blond hair, blue eyes and stands at about five-feet-eight-inches tall. He was wearing a black knit cap and a black and white jacket.

Police also say they are on the look out for an emerald green-colored Pontiac that was also spotted in the area and may have been involved. There was another man inside.

In the meantime, police are asking residents in the area to be cautious of strangers offering shovel snow.

Anyone with information on the case is being asked to contact the Carnegie Police Department.
