Local Firefighter Accused Of Forging Signatures On Checks

PENN TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- Police believe a firefighter forged another firefighter's signature to steal more than $2,500 from the department's relief account.

This all happened at the Grandview Fire Department on Ridge Road in Penn Township.

Daniel Walker, 27, is facing charges of forgery, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.

Checks require two signatures in order to be cashed.

Penn Township Police believe Walker forged another firefighter's signature on nine checks in all.

Walker is free on $5,000 unsecured bond pending a preliminary hearing next month.
