Pouncey Stays Positive For Right Now

ARLINGTON, Texas (KDKA/AP) - The question most asked to center Maurkice Pouncey at Media Day was whether he will play on Sunday.

"Most definitely," Pouncey said. "I feel positive right now."

When Pouncey arrived in Dallas he was walking off the plane on crutches, but showed up at Media Day in a walking boot on Tuesday. He said "they sawed off the cast yesterday."

Pouncey suffered a high left ankle sprain in Pittsburgh's 24-19 victory over the New York Jets in the AFC championship game. The injury kept Pouncey from practicing all last week and coach Mike Tomlin said he is "not on a running clock."

Tomlin will wait until the last day possible to make a decision.

"You'll pretty much know toward the end of the week if I'm going to play or not; 75/25, that's the motto," Pouncey said.

Pouncey is working to get ready for Sunday.

"I'm walking around pretty good today. I couldn't do anything in the cast. Now that I'm in the walking boot, there's a lot that I can do now," he said. "I'm icing it at night, and I've got to elevate it real good. Hopefully, I'm on the bike today and maybe some pool action later."
