Pittsburgh International Airport Busy Again On Super Bowl Eve

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- There are plenty of Pittsburghers in Texas already, but some fans were still making the journey south on the eve of the Super Bowl.

Black and gold fans filled Pittsburgh International Airport once again Saturday morning to catch Texas-bound flights.

It was hard for fans to contain their excitement with Super Bowl XLV now just hours away.

Some were heading to Dallas hoping to buy tickets to the game when they get there.

"People are now coming in for the game because of the weather, that's what we heard," said Jill Goralzick, a Steelers fan hoping to find tickets in Texas.

Others just want to be part of the Super Bowl atmosphere.

"We're just having a party," said Colleen Allison, who was Dallas-bound without a ticket into the stadium.

Jordan Gray, 9, said his ticket was a Christmas present and a dream come true.

"I'm very excited. It's going to be great," he said.

As for Keith Cushenberry, he was just as excited to be going to this game as he was when the Steelers made their last two Super Bowl appearances.

"I'm real excited," he said. "This will be my third Super Bowl in six years, you can't beat that."

Samantha Drohan has tickets, and headed to Dallas by way of Shreveport.

"We didn't find out till last Friday that we were going, so by the time we logged on and saw what our options were; Sherevport looked like a viable option,' she said. "If you're a Steeler fan you'll do anything."

Some fans will be traveling to Dallas Sunday, but the bulk of them are already there. In fact, Southwest and American Airlines have flown thousands of fans on dozens of flights since Thursday.
