Pedestrian Killed In New Brighton

NEW BRIGHTON (KDKA) -- A man was killed and a woman was hurt while crossing Third Avenue in New Brighton Monday night.

KDKA's Ralph Iannotti reports the pedestrians were near the Brighton Hot Dog Shoppe when the accident happened.

The pair was struck by a red Nissan pick up truck heading southbound. Police identified the driver as 24-year-old Richard Disney. No charges have been filed.

Witnesses say speed may have been a factor. Police say it's too early to tell if that was the cause of the accident.

The victims have been identified as Robert Lancos, 67, and his daughter, 44-year-old Susan Miller.

Miller was taken to Beaver County Medical Center for treatment.

Lancos was pronounced dead at the scene.
