Snow Showers Could Impact Tuesday Morning Commute

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Some inclement weather is closing in on western Pennsylvania, which could impact the Tuesday morning commute.

According to KDKA-TV Meteorologist Dennis Bowman, the weather will take a few changes over the next 24 hours.

Today, rain and wet snow will move through. The precipitation will quickly becoming all rain in the afternoon with temperatures rising to 40 degrees.

Tonight, an arctic air mass will arrive that will turn the rain back to snow. This will most likely take place after 7 p.m. As a result, icy spots and a coating of snow accumulation can be expected for tonight and Tuesday morning's commute.

The temperature will fall to about 18 degrees overnight. Tuesday will be windy and cold with snow showers ending around noon.

Bowman said overall snow accumulations should be in the one to two inch range. Tuesday's high will be 19 degrees with wind chills near zero.
