Penguins Recall 4 Players From Wilkes-Barre/Scranton

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Penguins general manager Ray Shero announced Thursday that the team has called up four players from the AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

Those players include Ryan Craig, Nick Johnson, Brett Sterling and Joe Vitale.

Craig, Johnson and Sterling all have previous NHL experience.

Craig played for the Tampa Bay Lightning from 2005-2010. Johnson played in six games for the Penguins last season and Sterling played for the Atlanta Thrashers from 2007-2009.

The Penguins have several holes to fill in their lineup with injuries to Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Chris Kunitz and Arron Asham, as well as the four-game suspension that was handed down to Matt Cooke on Wednesday.

The Pens also sent Eric Tangradi and Tim Wallace back to the minors.
