Steeler Great Dermontti Dawson Weighs In On Hall Of Fame Snub

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) -- Former Steeler Dermontti Dawson joined Seibel, Starkey, and Miller on Sportsradio 93-7 The FAN to talk about the recent Hall of Fame voting and how he feels about the guys who got in this year.

Dermontti said he doesn't get too upset about not getting voted in because he knows he put in the work and did everything he could, and trusts that someday, he will get in.

One major debate surrounding this years class is the election of NFL Films founder Ed Sabol, and Dermontti told the guys that Sabol brought the game to a whole new level and isn't mad that he made it in over him since he was a contributor o the sport, and that his induction benefits everyone involved in the sport.

Dermontti admitted that all the other Steelers in the Hall might be part of the reason why voters aren't putting him in right now, but he doesn't think it will stop him from eventually getting in.

Josh Miller came to Dermontti's defense though when it came to Ed Sabol getting in ahead of him and said there needs to be a separate wing for the contributors to the sport.

Finally, Dermontti weighed in on current Steelers Center Maurkice Pouncey and how impressive it was that he was able to step right in and play at such an incredibly high level this year.  Dermontti said he was in contact with Pouncey throughout the entire season.
