Penn State Hockey Receives Another Donation

STATE COLLEGE, PA. (KDKA/AP) - The Penn State hockey team has received another large donation in their effort to play Division I hockey.

The university announced on Tuesday that State College residents Paul and Nancy Silvis have pledged $1 million to the team.

This latest donation is in addition to the $88 million donation from Terry and Kim Pegula. The school received that back in September.

Penn State is using the donation money to build a new arena for the men's and women's hockey teams. Currently, Penn State's teams are only club level, but they are upgrading to Division I in 2012.

The university announced that main lobby of the new arena, named after the Pegula family, will be named after the Silvis family.
