KDKA Mourns Loss Of Freelance Photographer
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- It is with deep sadness that we tell you about the death of one of the behind-the-scenes people here at KDKA who went above and beyond to bring you the news.
Tom Sypula was a freelance photographer who out-hustled everyone in town to bring us the news from the Washington County area.
On Sunday morning, Sypula was on the scene of a pre-dawn accident, doing what he always did to get the story. Tragically, he collapsed and died at the scene.
Sypula was battling cancer and was mourning the loss of a son.
He leaves behind a wife and a daughter. They are in our prayers.
