Analyst: Pitt Should Receive No. 1 Seed
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - College RPI.com and CBS Sports Bracketology expert Jerry Palm joined the FAN Morning Show to preview the upcoming NCAA Tournament.
Plam said, it's hard to pick a best team right now, but he would pick Pitt right now as the No. 1 overall seed because they are the most balanced team in college basketball.
If the Panthers are the regular season Big East champions, then they should be a lock for the top spot in the tournament, Plam said.
Plam's argument for Pitt's No. 1 ranking is because they have the most wins against Top 25 teams this season. He doesn't see any harm to the Panther's rankings after their loss to St. John's on Saturday.
Plam previews the NCAA Tournament and said this year should be a wide open tournament because there is no clear favorite. He expects some big name teams could prove trouble to the higher ranked teams in the tournament this year.
