Man Escapes Injury In Clairton Fire
CLAIRTON (KDKA) – A man was able to escape injury after a fire temporarily trapped him inside his home Sunday morning.
His wife returned to their Grandview Avenue home Sunday morning and saw the flames.
Her husband, who suffers from dementia, was still inside.
"When we came home, the smoke detectors were going off and the couch was ablaze and my husband was sitting on the couch," Andrea Francis said.
"He was trying to pour water on it and it just climbed up the wall. We got out just in the knick of time. I got him out and the dog out."
The two-story home suffered extensive damage and the cause of the fire is unknown.
