Woman's Body Pulled From Allegheny River

O'HARA TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- The body of a woman was pulled from the Allegheny River around 10:40 a.m. Tuesday morning.

It was spotted by John Chiado, who lives on his boat year round at the Bell Harbor Yacht Club in O'Hara Township.

Chiado says initially he wasn't sure it was a body. Even after he turned it over with a two by four, he says he thought it was a mannequin.

When police arrived, they confirmed it was the body of a white female, 5-feet 6-inches tall, weighing about 110 to 120 pounds. She had no identification on her.

She had long black hair to her shoulders and was wearing blue jeans and a heavy brown winter coat.

She had keys in her pocket and some cash.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner is calling her an unknown. The autopsy is incomplete, but they are running her fingerprints in hopes of finding out who she is and where she is from.
